San is a Chartered Environmental Health Practitioner, housing standards specialist and local-authority manager with more than 12 years of experience.He currently leads housing standards and assistance services at Swale Borough Council, overseeing private-sector housing enforcement, HMO licensing, housing hazard assessments, empty homes, drainage, Disabled Facilities Grants and complex fire-safety cases.During his career, San has led and managed highly effective housing compliance teams responsible for delivering borough-wide property licensing schemes and complex housing enforcement work. He regularly handles complex investigations, prepares evidence and appears before tribunals and courts as an expert witness.San is a CIEH-approved assessor and examiner who supports the development of Environmental Health Practitioners, housing standards officers and compliance officers. His qualifications include an MSc in Food Safety and Control, a first-class BSc in Environmental Health, NEBOSH qualifications in fire safety and occupational health and safety, and specialist training in HHSRS, HMO enforcement, damp and timber investigation.He founded Housing Standards Academy to turn that practical experience into clear, accessible training. His courses help environmental health practitioners, housing officers, landlords and other housing professionals understand the law, make confident decisions and improve housing conditions.San believes professional training should be practical, current and grounded in the realities practitioners face every day.
