One system, three routes in. Every course teaches the reformed HHSRS (in force in England from June 2026): the new assessment method, the 21 hazard profiles, and the High, Medium and Low banding that replaced the old scoring bands.

New to the HHSRS?

HHSRS Transition Course (Foundation). The bridge from the 2006 system to HHSRS: what the rating system is, its legal basis in Part 1 of the Housing Act 2004, why it was reformed, and how the new system works, including the 21 hazard profiles and the baseline indicators.

Trained on the 2006 system?

HHSRS Refresher Course (Refresher). For practitioners who learned the original 29-hazard system and need to carry their judgement over: what changed, what merged, and how your existing scoring instincts translate to HHSRS.

Building full competency

HHSRS Practitioner Course (Full competency). The complete pathway: evidence standards, scoring judgement and defensible decisions, taught and tested on the official 2026 case studies.

The courses are currently piloting with local authority colleagues; enrolment opens after the pilot. The wider curriculum (building pathology, housing law and enforcement practice) follows the HHSRS launch.
